PUBLIC ALPHA · FRONTIER SHOGI

Every rival is a future recruit.

Hired Guns brings shogi to a frontier game table. Capture opposing pieces, recruit them to your reserve, and drop them back into play under your command.

What you can play today

Challenge a practice computer, play someone beside you on the same device, or ride the three-part teaching trail. The original score, The Porch Sessions, is available through the musical-note button. Sound starts only after you enable it.

Pass-and-play means two people on one device. This alpha does not yet include internet multiplayer, player accounts, ratings, tournaments, or chat.

A familiar game beneath a different landscape

The current rules model includes shogi movement, captures and drops, promotion, check and checkmate, repetition, and the 27-point entering-king declaration. This is an alpha implementation, not a certified tournament service. The computer is a practice opponent.

Your progress

The game can save progress in this browser when storage is available. Use the in-game Save game option to export a backup. A different device, browser profile, or website address has a separate save area.
